We assume that you have already down loaded and installed Coffee Cup Free FTP. If not, please do so before continuing with these instructions. Go ahead, we'll wait...

When you first open Coffee Cup, you will need to configure our FTP server. Click on the 'Servers' button (outlined in red below).

Now you will see the 'My Sites' screen. From here, click the 'Add' button as indicated below.

This will start the Server Profile Wizard. On this screen, enter the name of the FTP server. This is just a name that will help you remember which server is which, it can be anything you want. Once you have entered a name, click 'Next'.

On the next screen, you will need to enter the user name and password that we gave you. What, don't have one, oops. Just send us an email with your request and we'll set up an account for you. (Note: do not enter the sample text shown in the screen below.) Click 'Next' when you have entered your information.

Almost done, just two more configuration screens. On this screen, enter the hostname and default directory. Hostname is just a fancy term for the name of our server. Our hostname is ftp.ndpub.com, so enter that in the box. Then enter a slash in the second box. (This time you can enter the sample text just as you see it below). When finished, click 'Next'.

Okay, now the last configuration screen. This one a little tricky. Most people do not use a proxy server. If you know that you don't use a proxy or don't know what a proxy server is, just click the 'No' button.

If you know that you do use a proxy server, then you will need click the 'Yes' button. And you probably already know the information that it asks for. If not, contact you network administrator. Once you have entered the proxy server information, click 'Next'.

That's it, you're finished configuring our FTP server. You can just click 'Finish' on the last advertisement screen that comes up.

Now you will be back at the 'My Sites' screen, but this time you will see an entry for Northern Directory' FTP server. Highlight that entry (if not already), and click the 'Connect' button at the bottom of the window.

If all went well, you will be back at the main screen. But this time you will be connected to our server. On the left is your computer, on the right is our server. Each half of the screen acts just like Windows Explorer. All you have to do is navigate to the proper location and drag the file to the other side. That's all there is to it, all done.
